Locate Your Lost Android Phone with this free App

An App to let You find Your Phone when on Silent mode. Wow!

Thats right “Where’s My Droid” app can help you locate your mobile phone when you have left it on silent mode either in Your office desk between those million papers or in a party lying under tons of coats. Its truly best when you have misplaced it in your own room and remember it just when you are leaving ‘late’ for your class :)

How does it work: It has dual functions, as in GPS for losing your phone in a place you don’t remotely recollect leaving it and also in case you have misplaced it in that very special place, where you are so desperately trying to remember.

Case1: You’ve misplaced your dear mobile phone leaving it in silent mode somewhere close-by, you can send a text message to your phone and the app will increase the volume of your ringer to 100% and then ring for 30 seconds, 60 seconds, one minute or five minutes as enabled by you to help you locate it easily in the app settings.

Case2: You have no clue, where your phone is. Text your phone and receive the GPS co-ordinates and a link to Google Map displaying location of your mobile  phone. (The catch is, you would need to leave your GPS on all the time)

You can change the SMS text settings which when sent to your mobile phone activates the awesome functions of the app.

Default is set to “Wheres my droid” & “GPS my droid”. You can change it to something that you would remember easily but would not be too obvious for anyone planning to misuse the same.

You also have an option where you can set a ‘pass-code’ to these settings to keep the secret ‘SMS text words’ secure.

We recently conducted a survey with 500 readers across 12 countries (Australia, India, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Spain, USA, UAE, UK) in the age group of 15 – 55 of ‘whether they are using Mobile integrated Geo Apps and the why behind their Yes or No’

 

The power of Mobile integrated Geo-target location based check-in applications today seems to be extremely beneficial to both marketers and users.

 

How:

For a Marketer: It’s the single most easily accessible application that can be integrated with their consumers mobile applications. That, with the rise in Smartphones globally, every other user today seems to be having a Blackberry, Android, iPhone etc with them. Its gives the marketer, a wonderful way to put together both benefits of products and get customer feedback in one place.

Great, so the world is now way past the “Social Media cannot be measured stage” as brands have begun evaluating the ROI for not only their Customer engagement, brand loyalty but have begun crunching sales numbers for their products, services and are gearing up to now go beyond the daily metrics.

Today with the power of social media tools, online marketing campaigns can track everything from pulls, ping-backs, redirects to actual hits, tracking, connect and sale.

The value in return, is well, just like the plan, long term and priceless.

The real challenge which marketers across seem to be facing today is keeping the power of the three M’s (Market, Monitor & Measure) connected not just to numbers but the Brand itself.

  • Its not me, its always You: Wouldn’t you agree if this was the line used rather than the one that movies have made legends out of, relationships would have been stronger with time and loyalty? Now think from a Brands point of view. One needs to accept the fact that unless you are Steve Jobs or Brand Harry Potter, your product might not get a million pre-booking orders a week in advance. Thus the second step is, it’s not just the service or product or brand that sells, for the end user of any other brand its simply ‘you’. Your commitment to them with sincerity in your gesture, tone, message and the constant effort to consistently deliver ‘value to the customer is all that matters.

 

  • Gratify NOW: Today the word “like’ and ‘share’ mean so much more and to a marketer these words today are pure magic when it comes from a customer. Why, because when a customer hits a ‘like’ or a ‘share’ button today for your brand, product or service,he is your very own brand ambassador online.
    • He has done three things for you with a single click:
  • Given you real time feedback
  • Added a power value in the form of referral
  • Turbo charged your Brand for FREE

Now when we think of it in the above terms, we realize the need to ‘Gratify’ that customer ‘Now’.  Always track and thank them, give freebies or badges, discounts for sharing etc that will actually add ‘value’ to them. It’s always easier to gift a prospect than share benefits with an existing customer isn’t it? So make sure, when they have powered you, you too empower them.


  • Invitational yet paid Lunch: So you have a fan page on facebook and every post of yours is about the new offer that you have come up with. Well, lets see, now ‘How would you feel if someone invited you at their place for lunch and then tried to sell you something at the dining table during your lunch or worse, made you pay for that lunch?‘ That’s right, so when you have a fan page and members, surround them with conversations about what they would love to do. Feed them with useful interesting information, resources and links. These pages are wonderful source to understand your customers so much better. Ask them, take their opinions, know what they like, engage them in conversations. Imagine scores of ‘fans’ suggesting ideas in real-time that could help you in helping them. That’s multi-dimensional targeted marketing power from a single page for you.

 

  • Ease to connect: Very important. Just because there is a site with lots of people online on it or may be a mobile application that is the most downloaded, don’t force it upon your customers too. Give them various options to connect. Have an easy way or platform for each of your customer to get discounted offers, deals, resources, freebies from anyplace that is of ease to them. So every offer of yours need not be marketed using only a blog or a fan page. It could be shared and integrated with website referrals, viral campaigns, mobile integrated offers with check-ins, twitter power and social bookmarking etc. Let them have the ease to connect with you using tools that they are comfortable with.

 

  • Its always fun when its well, ‘Fun’: Same old movies, dinner, clothes and routine work. So dull! Isnt it? So why give only an opportunity to comment, share or like to your customer. Give them something they can interact with. Engage them with tools that will make them use their creativity, or may be share their photography skills, make them fan of the week for engaging others, let them try out their new smartphone for scanning a QR code may be and sharing the awesome interactivity with his or her friends. Let them find out a fact about something interesting and unique, useful and fun while they engage with your brand. Keep it rolling.

That’s right comScore reported the much awaited statistics for US Mobile Users Aged 13+:

Top Mobile Brands, Top Mobile Smartphone, Top Mobile content Used”

The results were – Android rules and

Under Mobile Content usage, Two among the Top three Mobile content usages were – “Using Mobile Browser & Using content for Downloaded Apps on phone” and with Android Market Apps topping across globally, these results were very obvious.

Google topped among the smartphone platform with a 31.2% market share rocking all the way with Android smartphones.

Style & Design

  • The Theme of the website was the TECHDIVINE logo itself. The colours have been inspired from the logo to begin with (Light Green, Blue, White & Maroon across links, pages, bg etc)
  • The Source style and background (bg) used is the Back Cover design creative of our Popular Your SMQ Social Media Quotient Magazine. That bg forms part of our inside pages too as the main background with a brushed water effect.

The idea of this design for the website is:

 

Functionality:

We wanted to make the navigation easy and at the same time creative. Which is why we planned our Navigation buttons at the bottom of the page in a simple pop-up fashion and integrated sub-head as pages within thus reducing the overall page load time drastically and making the site quick load with content rich in text, images and social network integration.

Page You: This section was a last minute addition to our website after we received tons of wishes, cards, mails from so many well wishers members across globally. We were humbled when we saw the creative doodles, fun sketches they had created to showcase their affection to us.

So we added this PAGE YOU SECTION wherein members (will soon get to upload) add their creative fun doodles, their photography clicks, their fun sketches etc with their name, their own profile photograph too and every month there will be a HALL OF PAGE wherein the best creative submitted, shared, voted, liked will be the HALL OF PAGE for that month.
