Welcome to the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. The night we all have been waiting for.

The red carpet began like always with all its glory and glamour.
As the celebrities drove in, the background simmered with the glitz with scores of fans screaming out their names, the red carpet flew into the majestic cinematic magical wonder that it is.
The stage was set as Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin introduced the lighter moments and yes, the nominees too. Most of their introduction was revolving around the ravishingly gorgeous Meryl Streep, who was attending her 16th Oscar nomination.
Then began the magic of the amazing golden statuette, the night of the 82nd Oscar.
Penelope cruz looking stunning as usual, gave the Oscar for the best actor in a supporting role – Won by Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds) – This is his first nomination and Oscar. Wow! Congratulations.
Pete D won the Oscar for UP (Animated Feature) who quoted, “I never thought, my high school flip book story will lead me here…..” Well, it did. It must have been an amazing flip book because it was a wonderful animated feature.
The Oscar for the best Musical score was won for Crazy Heart.
The night had just begun.
Tina fey and Robert Downey Jr. gave the Oscar for best Original screenplay. The nominations were simply splendid and the winner was Mark Boal for Hurt locker.
John Hughes was honored for his contributions over so many decades and the legacy that he had left behind.
Best animated short was won by Nicolas Schmerkin for Logorama. You should really watch this movie. It’s simply brilliant.
Music by Prudence won for Best Documentary short by Roger Ross Williams.
The New Tenants won by Joachim and Tivi for Best Documentary.
Ben Stiller made a superb entry in the form of Avatar character and gave the Oscar for what else, for best make up. The winner was none other than the galactic wonder, the ‘Star Trek’ – Barney, Mindy and Joel took the Oscar.
Best adapted screenplay was won for Precious by Geoffrey who gave an emotionally charged acceptance speech just like the marvelously heavy hitting brilliant movie.
Queen Latifah introduced the Governors awards for 2010.
And, yes, then came the man himself, Robin Williams, who presented the award for best actress in a supporting role. The Oscar went for the brilliant performance by Mo’nique in Precious. You have got to see the movie! It’s precious. No pun intended.
The Oscar for best Art direction was won by Avatar, no guesses here (The team – Rick, Robert and Kim)
The Oscar for best costume design went to, The Young Victoria, costume by Sandy Powell who won her 3rd Academy award.
Best sound editing was won by Paul Ottosson for The Hurt Locker.
Best Sound mixing went yet again to Paul Ottosson and Ray Beckett for the Hurt Locker.
Outstanding achievement in Cinematography went to Mauro for ‘The Avatar’.
The Oscar for the best visual effects went to none other than Avatar. There was no doubt here. (The Team – Joe, Stephen, Richard and Andrew)
The Cove by Louie won the best documentary.
Best film editing went to, yet again The Hurt Locker won by Bob and Chris.
The Best Actor Male went to the legendary Jeff Bridges for Crazy Heart and the best Actor female, went to gorgeous Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side.


The surprise of the red carpet’s evening was when both the Best Picture and Best Director went to Kathryn Bigelow for Hurt Locker.
