That\u2019s right, the search engine guru, Google, recently announced the new web indexing system called Caffeine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

How does it compare with the old system?<\/p>\n

The core difference is:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The old indexing had layers of search indexing that were updated at regular intervals and were not real-time.<\/p>\n

With Caffeine the indexing not only is continuous but even includes real time searches happening across platforms like twitter <\/a>and more.<\/p>\n

As quoted on Google Blog<\/a>: \u201cEvery second Caffeine processes hundreds of thousands of pages in parallel. If this were a pile of paper it would grow three miles taller every second. Caffeine takes up nearly 100 million gigabytes of storage in one database and adds new information at a rate of hundreds of thousands of gigabytes per day. You would need 625,000 of the largest iPods to store that much information; if these were stacked end-to-end they would go for more than 40 miles.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The core of the indexing feature has only gotten stronger with more power packed search results but also tremendously fast in terms of real \u2013 time search capabilities.<\/p>\n

For eg. We tested it and searched for two terms.<\/p>\n

One something that is a new age keyword, that is fresh and is on the most discussed terms on the globe today and the other which is a legendary word since decades and has been existing since long wherein we wanted to test the most relevant and newest updates on both of them.<\/p>\n

The 2 words were \u201cSocial media quotient<\/a>\u201d and \u201cElvis Presley<\/a>\u201d and the results were amazing.<\/p>\n

Not only does the new google search give a massively larger chunk of results than before, but it also gives blog posts, video, forums, images discussed about both the topics in the last 1 \u2013 5 hours with accurate timeline which is amazing.<\/p>\n

With newer and more improvements being done on the Google Caffeine, we can only expect the real-time search to come down from an \u201cdiscussed in the last 1 hour\u201d to \u201cdiscussed seconds before\u201d.<\/p>\n
