Tips to build a better rapport with prospects on G+<\/strong><\/p>\n

So you finally took the plunge and are now on Google Plus<\/a> but can\u2019t figure out how to engage with your prospects on the rapidly growing social network. These tips might come in handy.<\/p>\n

1. Build an attractive profile page:<\/strong><\/p>\n

First impressions go a long way in a customer’s assessment of your brand. Make sure that your profile page is attractive with photos and links that reflect your brand. Any visitor to your profile must be able to connect the images to your brand easily.<\/p>\n

2. Post useful and relevant content:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Make sure you post content that is relevant to your brand. How is it useful for the customer? Will this post make your prospect come back? Does it entice him to visit your site or corporate blog<\/a>? These are all questions that you need to consider when you share with your customers. Occasional humorous off topic posts can be done as long they are not offensive and are neutral in opinion about topics.<\/p>\n

3. Add people to your Circles:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Use the search bar and find users who are interested in the products that you are marketing. G+ supports hashtags, so if you are in the electronics market, you would search for users interested in technology or gadgets.<\/p>\n

4. Engage with users:<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will only be able to attract more prospects by participating in discussions and leaving comments. Fortunately this is quite easy to do in Google Plus<\/a>. Just search for, say, Android and you will get a live stream of users talking about Android. You can talk to other users and advertise your firm and leave breadcrumbs for users to follow back to your profile.<\/p>\n

5. Use the tools available:<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are a quite a few useful tools that Google has baked into G+. The most useful and unique feature of G+ is Hangouts. Video chat with up to 9 users at a time right from your browser with apps for file collaboration, YouTube integration \u00a0and other features. A recently unveiled feature was local which helps you pinpoint customers and business around a specific location. Users can rate and review places, thus increasing credibility and helping word of mouth marketing. Also keep an eye on the trending topics and see if you can use them to your advantage.<\/p>\n
