Starbucks opens their first outlet in Mumbai, in India<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starbucks<\/a>\u00a0opened their very first outlet in India on October, 19th 2012, in Mumbai at the historic Elphinstone building located in South Mumbai.<\/p>\n

As we all would like to believe, this won’t be the only store in Mumbai. This Consumer Super-Power BRAND will be opening two more outlets in the coming week, in association with Tata Global Beverages<\/a>, one at The Taj Mahal Palace hotel<\/a> on Wednesday and the other at Oberoi Mall<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\"Starbucks<\/a><\/p>\n

In a first in its 40 year history<\/a>,\u00a0India is the first location where Starbucks is sourcing and roasting its coffee locally. There are more than 42 items listed on their menu<\/a> including vegetarian and non vegetarian courses<\/a>. In addition to the varied menu they are also offering free wifi<\/a> and will remain open till\u00a011 am\u00a0on weekdays \u00a0and\u00a0up to\u00a01 am on weekends.<\/p>\n

The shop can\u00a0accommodate\u00a0up to\u00a0120 people and is sprawled over two levels with vintage furniture made out of solid Indian teak and hand painted trunks providing a relaxed ambience.<\/p>\n

Starbucks<\/a> has around 8000 outlets in the United States, 1000 in Japan and 700 in China. India is the 61st country globally where they have\u00a0established a market. Hopefully more stores in various states in India are on the anvil. With rival coffee outlets like Cafe Coffee Day, Dunkin Donuts & Costa Coffee already having opened branches in various cities, Starbucks will be planning to do some aggressive expansion as well.<\/p>\n
