Yahoo & Facebook together
Yahoo (Y!)(The second biggest search engine today) seems to be partnering with the SNS guru Mark Zuckerberg’s “Facebook” (FB) which is riding the online wave with over 350 million users, wherein users of Yahoo’s home page, mail, and other sites will be able to share content with friends using their Facebook accounts very soon (By 2010 beginning)
The plan from Y! seems to be an amazing idea to pool in all Facebook feeds right to its Mail, Sports, Technology and few other sites. It’s apparently planning to give the Y! users a full “news feed”, allow to leave comments & utilize many such apps and tools by just using their Facebook account on Yahoo. The integration also seems to be planning Flickr photos to be allowed to sent to Facebook. With so much of rich content anyway floating around, why not?
As for Microsoft, Twitter & Google it will be a mighty blow as the integration is no doubt officially putting Facebook at the realm of every imaginable power held online, but also going to be helping Yahoo pull in tremendous traffic back to their sites.
Is this a win for Yahoo or are we seeing a new ultimate Power House i.e. Facebook emerging and growing beyond anyone’s reach and control.
