What is a Nougat? Well, it’s a family of confections made with sugar or honey, roasted nuts, whipped egg whites, and sometimes chopped candied fruit. The word nougat comes from Occitan pan nogat from Latin panis nucatus ‘nut bread’. It is used in a variety of candy bars and chocolates (which is what reminded me of Seinfeld episode of George Costanza shared below. This episode focused on the character getting into an extremely funny and frenzy debate with an automobile mechanic over a candy bar of Twix and discussions over a cookie and a nougat.)

The moment I read the term Nougat I remembered George Costanza from their Seinfeld Dealership episode, where he says, “I think I’ve reached the point in my life where I can tell between nougat and cookie.”

Since he can, I thought of sharing few details of what Nougat is so that from now on, you can too.
