Here are 5 easy steps to become a digital marketer:

 

1) Humanize Your Brand: Brands today are working tirelessly towards building connections and relations with their customers not just online, but in real-time.

So wouldn’t it be right to say that ignoring online marketing is like opening a business but not telling anyone? Yes, it most certainly would.

2) Know the VALUE of Digital marketing as a BRAND: Brands today do not obviously have a choice whether to do social media, but rather how wonderfully well it gets done!

3) Understand your Target Audience: Always remember, all of your customers are partners in your company’s mission because one customer well taken care of would be more valuable than $1000 print media ad. Never forget brand’s biggest competitor is their unhappy customers.

4) Engage the customer: So when we think about happy customers or brand ambassadors today, the first name that comes to our mind is “APPLE”. It’s a powerfully known Global brand, “Apple”. People are one with this brand and extremely loyal. An iPhone sells even before it is launched, so does Apple really need marketing? Steve Jobs always said, “Design is more than just how a product looks, design is how the customers feel.” But it still markets and have a power packed marketing and digital campaign.

5) It’s about the Story not just the platform: Let’s take an example of a car. It can be simple as well as automated, as in with lots of tech and automatic-gear and so many more features. But the reason behind buying a car, especially the first car, is always an emotional one. Similarly, Digital marketing is not only about sharing it on Facebook or Twitter. There has to be some value addition and benefit to the end user. Each of us should have something to connect with the brand as audiences. Emotions and brands should go together.

Or else, it’s just like going to buy a television in a store which has no audio. Would you be emotionally connected watching it? No way!

That’s how online marketing is, it needs to connect and move you.
