NASA introduces new badge on Foursquare

Curiosity explorer badge

NASA has long offered different badges to  Foursquare users to earn with their check ins. They have added one more to the galore of badges that can be earned. The new badge  introduced is called the “Curiosity Rover” Badge.

Foursquare users can earn the badge by liking NASA on Foursquare and checking in at a NASA visitor center or any venue categorized as a science museum or planetarium. You will also get to see this special message :

“Get out your rock-vaporizing laser! You’ve explored your scientific curiosities just like NASA’s Curiosity rover on Mars. Stay curious and keep exploring. You never know what you’ll find.”

NASA has quite an active presence on Foursquare. Their astronaut Doug Wheelock holds the distinction for the first check in from the international space station. The Curiosity rover which landed on Mars back in October holds the record for the first ever check in from another planet.
