Try Flickr Pro free for 3 months

Flickr Pro 3 months offer

If you are another ticked off Instagram user who is still fuming after their recent terms of service muddle, Flickr has a holiday offer to entice you. Flickr is offering their Pro service which normally costs $24.95 a year, free for 3 months. This will let you upload unlimited photos though with a file size of 50 mb, unlimited HD videos though capped at 90 seconds or 500 MB, unlimited viewing of your entire library and the ability to download high resolution photos among other features.

By comparison, the free service only lets users view the recent 200 images, limited photo uploads of only 300 MB  per month and only two video uploads per month among other restrictions.  If you are an existing Flickr user, you will get to use Flickr Pro free for 3 months on signing up.  New users don’t have to register using a credit card or enter any other billing information as well. The Flickr mobile app has also been recently updated with new image filters. Do note that this offer does come with a disclaimer :

Note:  To avoid abuse of our unlimited storage, we do monitor accounts for excessive usage. Yahoo! limits the number and size of photos allowed from an account within a given timeframe. While our goal is to ensure that everyone benefits from unlimited storage, Flickr is not intended to be used as a content distribution network.

You can use this migration tool to transfer all your photos from Instagram to Flickr.

  3. […] Flickr has updated its app for iOS with the ability to add hashtags to any image. While the website does allow you to add “tags” to any image to allow easier search, these don’t show up as hashtags in the app itself. The web version lets you search for images by clicking on the tags. Whereas the iPhone app will let you add hashtags to any photos from now on. Tapping on a hashtag launches a search for related images which have been uploaded with similar hashtags. These tags can be found below any image. […]
