Google Plus introduces Communities

Google Plus has introduced a new way for people with similar interests to interact with “Communities”. Now you can join specific communities where people share your passion for Astronomy, Movies, Photography, Marketing etc.

Any user on Google Plus can now create a public or private community revolving around specific hobbies or interests. They can further add sub sections for discussions on specific topics. For eg: A group on Photography could have further discussion groups based on the type of camera like, Digital cameras or DSLR’s.

To create a Community just visit https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities and click on the “Create Community” button on the top right corner. You will be given further options like making it public or private and making it open to join or let moderators approve people. You can also get notifications when other people post in the community. Hangouts can be hosted as well from within the communities.

The Communities feature is still a preview and currently not available on mobile devices. In case you are interested in trying out this new Google Plus feature, you can start off with a few of the Communities revolving around Social Media that we have created.
