Foursquare app updated with nearby friends feature

The Foursquare app for Android has been updated to bring back an old feature – Nearby Friends. This feature which was removed earlier has now been brought back on user demand. After you update the app, tap at the bottom of the friends tab to switch between views. Also when you look at a place, you can now know how many times, which of your friends have checked in there and their opinions of that place.
iOS app users have not been left out either with a new update being rolled out for those who now possess a shiny new iPhone 5. The explore tab has been updated with a new intuitive map that on searching for a place returns information about what’s popular in that neighbourhood, tips and tailored suggestions from all those people who have checked in earlier.
Also you can now set notifications from any person to “Always On” and never miss their check ins again. This is especially useful if your family is travelling and you need to make sure that they have reached their destination safely without leaving your important meeting.
